3M™ Stikit™ low profile abrasive disc backup pad provides secure attachment for a 3M™ Stikit™ disc (sold separately) on a random orbital sander or other rotary tool. This lightweight, shock resistant backup pad is constructed of firm density foam for sanding flat surfaces and has a tapered edge for applications where some flexibility is needed. Our 3M™ Stikit™ low profile abrasive disc backup pad was designed for use with 3M™ Stikit™ abrasive discs. The 3M™ Stikit™ system was designed for convenient changes between abrasive grades or applications. Stikit™ abrasive discs come ready-to-use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to the hand block is as simple as pressing on a sticker. Yet they remove cleanly without adhesive residue left on the block. The taper on 3M™ Stikit™ low profile abrasive disc backup pad, either 10 or 15 deg, helps it conform to small contours and get inside tight corners. Some Stikit™ backup pads feature holes for enhanced dust extraction while others like 3M™ Stikit™ low profile abrasive disc backup pad. Operators may opt for a backup pad without holes when working on substrates where loading or debris are not as much of a concern. The 6 in Dia disc has a 3/8 in THK, which qualifies it as low profile. Low profile, hard density backup pads are good for flattening and leveling surfaces, because they tackle imperfections without yielding or deflecting.
